MASCOE/NASCOE
AWARDS
Welcome to the MASCOE Awards Page
Jackson Jones, Chairperson
CED Cedar County
Welcome and thank you once again for allowing me to serve as the awards committee chair. I am pleased to announce several awards available for members in good standing serving under a permanent appointment, and for members who voluntarily retired during the current year.
Sick Leave Award – There are no deadlines for these awards, and are available to all members. To nominate someone or yourself, simply email Jackson Jones with the name of the member and the number of accumulated Sick Leave Hours. There are no sick leave reports, so the only way we are able to know who is eligible for this award is when we are notified. Awards are granted to members who, for the first time, have accumulated 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 hours of sick leave. Plaques of National recognition are awarded to permanent employees who accumulate 3,000 hours and above of unused sick leave.
Retirement – MASCOE awards members with 30 years of membership with a plaque upon retirement. Members with 20 to 30 years service will receive a framed certificate and 20 years or less a certificate. As with the Sick Leave Award, the only way the awards committee is aware of retirements is when we are notified. If you know of a member who has retired this year and not been presented a plaque, please let us know by dropping a note by email to Jackson Jones. If you know of a member with an impending retirement, please let us know timely so we can have the award ready for their open house or retirement banquet.
